One of the 940th Air Refueling Wing’s aircraft (tail number 57-2599, a KC-135R Stratotanker) has reached its end of life. The Air Force has tentatively agreed to use this airframe as a static display at its home unit here at Beale AFB, California. The men and women of the 940th Maintenance Group and volunteers of the Tanker Heritage Foundation are planning to support this effort and it’s future preservation.
